Unit 6  My e-friend

.Teaching Aims

1. New words: Australia, Canada, China, the UK, the US,

2. New phrases: send this e-mail, to my e-friend, live in the UK, speak Chinese, have Chinese lessons, at school, study Chinese, after school, wait a minute, …years old.

3. New sentences:   Do you / they …? Yes, I / we / they do.  No, I / we / they don’t.

  Does he / she …? Yes, he / she does.  No, he / she doesn’t.

  What subjects do you / they like? I / We / They like …

  What subjects does he / she like? He / She likes …

 

. Teaching course:

Step 1  Warming up

1.  Daily greeting:

T: How are you today?  S: Fine, thank you.

2.  Brainstorm

I. Teacher    II. Play football     III. Chinese lesson     IV. 10 years old

3.          Let’s guess.

T: Look at this picture, who is she?

S: She is Miss Li.

 

T: This is me. Do you want to know me? You can ask me some questions, such as name, age, job and hobby.

S: What’s your name?

T: My name is Iris.

S: How old are you?

T: I am 22 years old.

S: What do you do?

T: I am an English teacher.

S: What do you like doing?

T: I like making friends.

I have a kind of special friend. We can’t see each other. We always send e-mails to each other. Can you guess?

S: E-friend.

Today, we are going to learn Unit 6 My e – friend.

 

Step 2  Presentation

1. Do you know what e- means? It means electronic. Can you say something about e-. (e-mail e-card e-book e-dog e-friend)

2.  T: Look at them. Who are they?

Ss: They are Liu Tao and Wang Bing.

T: What are they doing?

Ss: They are talking about WangBing’s e-friend.

T: Really? Let’s listen to the tape.

Ss listen to the tape.

3. T: Do they both like playing football?

S: Yes, they do.

T: Why? How do you know it?

S: Lets go and play football in the playground. Wait a minute, Liu Tao. (wait a minute)

Ss read after T

T: Wait a minute. Why?

S: Let me send this email first. (send this email)

T: Is this email to Liu Tao?

S: It’s to my e-friend.

T: It’s to Wang Bing’s e-friend. Great!

Ss read the title together after T.

 

Step 3  New lesson

1. T: About this e-friend, what do you want to know?

  Ss: What’s his name? How old is he? Where? Can he …? Does he like …?

  T: Well done. I want to know the name, age, address, ability, hobby too.(指板书) Lets watch the cartoon. Then find the answers about the name, age and address.

  Ss watch the cartoon.

2.  T: Tell me sth. about the name, age and address.

Ss: Hes Peter. He lives in the UK. Hes 11 years old. (the UK)

T: How do you know? Can you read the dialogue?

Ss: …

3.  Ss read after T, Bs & Gs, Ss read in pairs, show 2-3 pairs.

4.  T: Until now, Liu Tao knows the name, the address and the age. And he wants to know more about Peter. What does he want to know? Find the questions, please.

Ss listen the tape and read the questions.

Ss: Can he speak Chinese? / Does he have Chinese lessons at school? / What subjects does he like? / Does he like playing football? (随文学字 speak Chinese, have Chinese lessons)

Ask Ss to answer these questions.

Ss: Yes, he can. (= Yes, he can speak Chinese.)

No, he doesnt. (= No, he doesnt have Chinese lessons at school.) He studies Chinese after school (study -- studies)

He likes Maths and PE.

Yes, he does. (= Yes, he likes playing football.) He likes swimming too.

 

Step 4  Consolidation

1. Ss read the text together, try to recite with the hints.

2. Think and write:

T: Now, I have some questions. How old is he? Where does he live? What does he like doing? What subjects does he like? What does he do after school?

Ss: …

3. Think and say: Say sth. about Peter.

4. Translation: PPT

 

Step 5  Homework:

1.      Listen to the tape, read and recite P58.

2.      Copy the new words and phrases

My e-friend 教学反思

本课的主要内容是学习如何介绍自己的网友。对于本课的教学,有优有缺,具体为以下几点感受:

优点:

1.  话题引入部分较好。通过几个小游戏,既复习了前几个单元所学习的重点,又很自然地引入了新的话题,起到了承上启下的作用。

2.  情景设置贴近生活,可以引起学生的共鸣,增加学习的兴趣及乐趣。

缺点:

1.  问题设置难度较大。例如说出有关e-的单词,因为五年级的孩子词汇量有限,不能很好的完成这个任务。在之后的教学过程中,我需要在设置问题时紧扣学情,根据学生的实际情况来设置。例如这题,可以给出单词,让学生们猜测词义。

2.  练习设置较多。在今后的教学过程中,我应该精简练习,做到取其精华,去其糟粕,这样既节约时间,又使学生对重难点一目了然,提高效率。

通过此次教研课,我收获颇多。希望在今后的教学过程中,我能够多多积累经验,同时也要多多向经验丰富的老师请教,双管齐下,提高自己的教学水平。
